“There Will Be Violence” is a Chapman Stick instrumental that I’ve been working on for quite a while. I wanted to finish rehearsing and recording it before the anniversary of my first year with this wonderful instrument, but missed that by a couple of weeks. The Oval is a new electronic musical instrument with the form factor of a hand pan. After backing their Kickstarter two years ago, I finally received the instrument yesterday. Here’s a first demo video that shows some of its capabilities.

Live recording with my triple Moog Mother-32 rack and an MF Delay, no post-processing … thought it was the perfect day to record what I’ve been working on.
Connected the LinnStrument with a DIN MIDI cable straight to the Mother-32, playing all the expression in real time on the LinnStrument.
